In accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal dated January 16, 2026, Mr. Mohammad Safiullah, nominated as the Vice Chairperson of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), formally assumed office on January 18, 2026. The newly appointed Vice Chairperson was welcomed by the Member Secretary of CTEVT, Er. Mahesh Bhattarai.

Speaking at a welcome program organized at the CTEVT Central Office, the Vice Chairperson stated that CTEVT has been producing the basic- and mid-level technical human resources required by the country. He emphasized that, in the coming days, CTEVT should place greater emphasis on competency-based and quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Highlighting that the Council has employees with long-standing experience in the field of TVET, he expressed confidence that the institution could be taken to new heights through the effective utilization of this experience. 

During the program, CTEVT Directors, representatives of various trade unions at CTEVT, and staffs also congratulated the newly appointed Vice Chairperson and extended their best wishes for a successful tenure.

Earlier, a public notice was published on December 10, 2025, inviting applications for the vacant post of Vice-Chairperson of CTEVT. As stipulated in the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training Act, 1988, and Rules, 1994, the term of office of the Vice-Chairperson of CTEVT is four years.
